Corn Salad - Ko-Ryu Ramen

This ramen restaurant has the salad that I wish, could be available in all ramen restaurants that I patron.  I don't visit this ramen restaurant as much as I used to, because there are just so many restaurants in the area.  But when I do visit this place, I always order this corn salad. The corn is always so sweet and crunchy and the shredded cabbage is always so refreshing and crispy. The salad dressing is so uniquely good that so far I haven't been able to find a bottled salad dressing from the Asian grocery stores to replicate this salad at home.  

Like any coleslaw salad with shredded cabbage, this salad is best to be consumed when ordered at the restaurant, and its leftover is not suitable for doggy bag. It's because shredded cabbage salad, after being refrigerated overnight, often become bitter due to the mustard oil the cabbage releases overtime.  I learnt this by my naive attempt to bring chopped cabbage salad and coleslaw salad leftover home before.

Iced Coffee With Coffee Jelly - Hamadaya

$3.55 + Tax I would like to avoid coffee after work, but I couldn't help it when I was shopping for dinner to go. I felt so tired and thirsty after my commute from work.  I just felt like having some coffee to recharge me even though drinking coffee in the evening is not really a healthy lifestyle. So I ordered the coffee jelly over milk with a shot of espresso at this bakery cafe before I began my dinner shopping.  I was just curious when I saw this on the menu.  May be a lot of people like to have jelly in their coffee, I personally don't care for coffee with boba or jelly.  I prefer not to have anything that isn't liquid in my coffee but I'm neutral about it.   The jelly in this coffee tasted like black coffee and I guess it was made with black coffee.    In terms of taste, this isn't my most favorite coffee drink.  It tasted okay to me. Popcorn Chicken Bento - Mindi's Kitchen

$8.95 + Tax I'm back to Mindi's Kitchen tonight simply because I'm hungry and  craving for  some Taiwanese comfort food that reminds me of the home-cooked meals that I had when I was visiting Taiwan.  I'm not Taiwanese, but I have Taiwanese friends who introduced me to their food that I instantly fell in love with.  Taiwanese popcorn chicken is one of those signature Taiwanese snacks that also make great meals.  Yes, they are a lot more delicious than the typical American popcorn chicken.  And yes, they are much better tasting than the McNuggets.  I never understood the appeal of McNuggets.  I never liked McNuggets even when I was a kid who loved to visit McDonald's.   My parents also hated the nuggets.  May be my dislike for McNuggets is genetic.
