Spicy Miso Ramen Combo Set - Santouka

I love the spicy miso ramen noodle with the very tender and very flavorful thin piece of  Japanese roasted pork, topped with green onions, shredded wood ear mushroom and sliced bamboo shoot (I don't like bamboo shoot so I always picked them out and discarded them). The Japanese seasoned egg is the most delicious kind of boiled egg that I can eat several in one setting if the price per egg is cheaper.  The combo set comes with a small rice bowl with your choice of topping. I chose a rice bowl that was topped with seaweeds.  I love Japanese seaweeds.  Yes, there are a lot of carbs in this meal, but I like how the carbs fill me up.

This is another Japanese restaurant franchise that I visit a lot.  I always take my out-of-town friends here when they visit me because for them it's like having a real good taste of Japan without having to go to Japan.

$22 + Tax I love Shabu-Shabu.  I can have this for lunch and dinner everyday if only I can afford to.  I don't cook but I love this cook-it-yourself table top cooking format at a Shabu-Shabu restaurant. Iced Coffee With Coffee Jelly - Hamadaya

$3.55 + Tax I would like to avoid coffee after work, but I couldn't help it when I was shopping for dinner to go. I felt so tired and thirsty after my commute from work.  I just felt like having some coffee to recharge me even though drinking coffee in the evening is not really a healthy lifestyle. So I ordered the coffee jelly over milk with a shot of espresso at this bakery cafe before I began my dinner shopping.  I was just curious when I saw this on the menu.  May be a lot of people like to have jelly in their coffee, I personally don't care for coffee with boba or jelly.  I prefer not to have anything that isn't liquid in my coffee but I'm neutral about it.   The jelly in this coffee tasted like black coffee and I guess it was made with black coffee.    In terms of taste, this isn't my most favorite coffee drink.  It tasted okay to me. Popcorn Chicken Bento - Mindi's Kitchen

$8.95 + Tax I'm back to Mindi's Kitchen tonight simply because I'm hungry and  craving for  some Taiwanese comfort food that reminds me of the home-cooked meals that I had when I was visiting Taiwan.  I'm not Taiwanese, but I have Taiwanese friends who introduced me to their food that I instantly fell in love with.  Taiwanese popcorn chicken is one of those signature Taiwanese snacks that also make great meals.  Yes, they are a lot more delicious than the typical American popcorn chicken.  And yes, they are much better tasting than the McNuggets.  I never understood the appeal of McNuggets.  I never liked McNuggets even when I was a kid who loved to visit McDonald's.   My parents also hated the nuggets.  May be my dislike for McNuggets is genetic.
