At this moment, the only dish from this restaurant that I like is this free dessert soup that came with any order.  This is a warm dessert soup. It's quite delicious.  Last time I had this kind of soup was when I visited Hong Kong last year.  So far, this is the only restaurant I know that serves this particular soup.   I might just return to this restaurant to offer to buy just this item.

$1.5+Tax The is the sweet roll that I always crave for in the morning and in the afternoon.  They are great for breakfast or afternoon tea.  I once brought a dozen of this to my work's morning meeting, and all my colleagues were fighting for a second.  This freshly baked sweet roll is so good it's addictive.  The roll is freshly baked many times a day at this bakery because it sells so fast. It's filled with blueberry cream inside and topped with a dot of blueberry jam.  The sweet buttery crust on top of the bun is always very fresh and delicious.  After trying out this roll, my colleagues now can't go back to the average donuts in the pink box.  The difference between this roll and the typical donuts in pink boxes is the ingredient.  This roll tastes really good with good ingredients, while the average donuts are probably sweetened with corn syrup, deep fried in old oil and  filled with Crisco instead of real cream.  I never liked...

Liwan Sampan Congee 荔湾艇仔粥 - South by Square Eight

US$ 6.21 Like oatmeal to us, congee is a very popular breakfast food in Chinese society.  Being in Macau, I just had to try out the kind of congee that I can't easily find in the USA.  I love congee because it's like savory oatmeal with a variety of protein options. I have many favorites, the Liwan Sampan Congee (a slow cooked thick rice soup, that has shredded meat, fried pork skin, jelly fish and squid, and topped with salty fried or roasted peanuts, crispy Chinese crouton, and a sprinkle of chopped green onions).  This congee was originated from the Liwan District in Guangzhou China many many years ago.   It was prepared and sold by the boat people there. This is how the congee got its name.  This congee was then made very popular in Hong Kong and Macau through migration. Everybody in the two cities are very familiar with it.  I had tried some good ones in Hong Kong from the past when the Chinese BBQ duck was used as the meat....

Salmon Plate - WaBa Grill

Waba Grill's Salmon Plate $10.75+Tax, The teriyaki sauce is a tad too sweet for me.  I don't like the poor quality of the salmon because it tastes a bit too fishy to me. The white rice is a little under cooked.  The free zero calorie peach tea that comes with the meal is quite good however. I bought this item at this location:1640 W. Carson St. A,Torrance, CA 90501. The cashier and order taker on duty is very friendly and nice.  The plate is however not worth the price.
